We are proud to announce that the UMDNJ New Jersey Medical School Student National Medical Association (SNMA) chapter will be hosting this year's SNMA Region IX Annual Conference on February 19 - 20, 2010.   In light of the continuous need for strong minority community leaders and role models and the invaluable role played by community leaders especially in underserved communities, the theme of this year's conference is

"Back to the Future - SNMA to NMA: Fostering the transition from Student Physician to Community Leading Physician."

Dr. Denise Rodgers - Executive Vice President of UMDNJ

This year New Jersey Medical School will be holding their Annual Dinner Dance Gala in conjunction with the Regional Conference. This formal will be held at the elegant The Newark Club will provide an excellent opportunity for the conference attendees and regional students and professionals to network, relax, and enjoy!

The SNMA is the nations’ oldest and largest student organization focused on the needs of medical students of color. With a rich history of community service and educational opportunities, we continue to advocate for improved health care services and education to meet the needs of minority and underserved populations.  With nineteen SNMA chapters and twenty-six undergraduate chapters, we are one of the largest regions.

Please remember registration forms and payment must be postmarked by January 15, 2010.   Please fill out a registration form even if you are planning on paying at the conference onsite registration table.

Register And Pay

Registration for Region IX Annual Conference has been extended to January 15, 2010. After January 15^th, registration will be considered late and a $10.00 late fee will be assessed. In addition, on-site registration will carry an additional fee.

Attendees are invited to attend NJMS-SNMA's exquisite Annual Dinner Dance and Gala held at The Newark Club at an extremely discounted rate of $35 prior to January 15th.  The Newark Club is a beautiful, elegant venue located on the 20^th floor of One Newark Center with a "breathtaking" view of Newark and New York City. Several prominent guests have been invited, and this is an event you do not want to miss!  All conference documents can be found HERE
